The Honda costs more than the Savage, more money for the dealer. Is also heavier and has more parts to wear out. Savage is a simple basic bike that is great for a re-entry rider. If you decide to get something larger than the Savage I would recommend going to a shaft drive. Chains are just too much of a pain in the butt and wear out too quickly. Belt is the best but unless you move up to a HD, the Savage is the largest belt drive bike you will find.
